Profil Persis Solo

VVB atau Vorstenlandsche Voetbal Bond adalah perserikatan sepak bola di solo, yang menjadi pelopor dunia sepak bola di Indonesia. Di sebut pelopor dunia sepak bola karena VVB berdiri sebelum klub-klub sepak bola ada di Indonesia, bahkan sebelum adanya PSSI atau Perserikatan Sepak bola Seluruh Indonesia. VVB didirikan sejak tahun tahun 1923 oleh Sastrosaksono dari Klub Mars serta R. Ng. Reksodiprojo dan Sutarman dari Klub Romeo.
Pada Tahun 1928 VVB resmi diubah namanya jadi Persis Solo atau Persatuan Sepak Bola Indonesia Surakarta yang dicetuskan oleh Bapak. Soemokartiko. Persis berkedudukan di Jl. Gajah Mada No. 73 Surakarta. Persis adalah raksasa sepakbola Indonesia masa lalu, karena persis adalah pencetus adanya klub-klub sepakbola di Indonesia.
Pada tahun 1940, Persis mengalami masa kejayaan dengan menjuarai perserikatan sebanyak tujuh belas kali. Persis yang merupakan perserikatan sepakbola, sampai saat ini mempunyai 27 anggota klub sepak bola yang menjadi anggota Persis adalah :
1. Dari divisi Satu, yaitu POP, MTA, AT-FARMASI, HWM, PEMPA, PPP, MonasUnsa Asmi, MARS, TNH dan ROMEO.
2. Dari divisi Dua, Al-Wathoni, ADIDAS, UTP, UMS, IM, HW, SPARTA, ARSETO Amatir, THOR, STER, YUPITER, AD BATIK, ANGKASA, dan MASA.
